Johnny is an ASFA certified personal trainer specializing in functional and athletic training, as well as senior fitness instruction. He began his fitness career over seventeen years ago while finishing a B.A. in EnglishLiterature from The University of Pittsburgh. Johnny went on to pursue an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Chatham University and, more recently, he earned a Ph.D. in Composition and Rhetoric from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Over the years, Johnny has continued his practice as a personal trainer while teaching writing at the university level. With regard to training, Johnny applies his student-centered teaching approach and diagnostic proficiency to help his clients reach their goals in a safe and effective manner. His training philosophy is grounded in the belief that the road to physical health and well-being should be a process rather than simply an end product. With that, Johnny continually assesses each client’s progress, developing creative solutions to address any unforeseen issues that may arise. Moreover, he is an expert at motivating his clients to reach their full potential using his encouraging, affective training approach.
Johnny has experience training student athletes, expectant mothers, and seniors. For him, education and technique are at the forefront of his fitness pedagogy; therefore, he is constantly researching and learning new techniques in order to augment his skills as a personal trainer. In essence, Johnny’s strong teaching background and affinity for problem-solving will help push you through plateaus and, ultimately, keep you on track to meet and exceed your established goal/s.
